High School

Requirements and Class Examples

A high schooler seeking an accredited diploma needs at least 22 credits in order to graduate.

1 credit equals two semesters, or ~120 hours of effort in and outside of class.

High School Language Arts

Four (4) credits of Language Arts are required to graduate.

Credit options can include:

High School Mathematics

Four (4) credits of Mathematics are required to graduate.

Required Math classes include:

For the remaining credit, choose at least one (1):

High School Science

Four (4) credits of Science are required to graduate.

Required Science classes include:

Biology

AND

One (1) physical science (marked with asterisks**), AND two (2) elective sciences (any science course)

High School Social Studies

Three (3) credits of Social Studies are required to graduate.

These requirements are:

High School Health/PE

One (1) credit of Health/PE is required to graduate.

More specifically, students need one semester, or half a credit of Health, and one semester, or half a credit of PE. Classes that cover both of these requirements in the same year include:

ONLINE Health/PE
Joyful Movement and Wellness

High School Foreign Language

Two (2) credits of the same Foreign Language are required to graduate.

Credit options can include:

French I, French II
Spanish I, Spanish II

High School Fine Art, Language III, or Technology

One (1) credit of Fine Art, Foreign Language III, or Technology is required to graduate.

Credit options can include:

Visual Arts Exploration
Film Studies
Art and Activism
Modern and Contemporary Art History
Computer Programming

High School Electives

Three (3) Elective credits are required to graduate.

These can include any of the following, and/or any of the above classes taken outside of the minimum graduation requirements.

Transfer Credits

We encourage students to seek additional academic resources outside of Hybridge, if that is what makes the most sense to them! After being enrolled at Hybridge Academy for at least one full academic year, students may elect to transfer work from non-Hybridge classes onto their accredited transcript. To submit a transfer credit for review, complete the paperwork below.

Credit Transfer Forms are split into two sections - one to be completed by the student/family and one to be completed by the instructor or tutor guiding the student through the material. Both sections must be completed in order for transfer credits to be considered.
